Spanning roughly 3,200 square miles, the Eastern Serengeti is characterized by expansive, treeless short-grass plains, deep valleys, and majestic granite outcrops known as kopjes. For decades, large sections like Soit Le Motonyi were closed to the public to facilitate specialized cheetah research and conservation, leaving the area pristine and untamed.

When the rains arrive between November and December, the nutrient-rich volcanic soils sprout mineral-dense grasses. This draws hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles from the north, transforming the quiet landscape into a bustling nursery and hunting ground for apex predators.
