Is Amani Mara Camp fenced?
No, the camp is unfenced to allow for the natural movement of wildlife. This provides a truly immersive experience where you can see animals from your deck. For safety, Maasai Askari (guards) escort all guests between their tents and the main lodge areas, especially at night.
Can we do night game drives here?
Yes. Because the camp is located just outside the National Reserve boundary (5 km away), it has the flexibility to offer Night Game Drives and Guided Nature Walks, which are generally not permitted inside the main reserve.
What is the best way to get to the camp?
Most guests fly into Olkiombo Airstrip via a domestic flight from Nairobi (Wilson Airport). The camp provides scenic transfers from the airstrip, which often double as your first mini-game drive.
How does the camp handle electricity and water?
Amani Mara is 100% solar-powered. They encourage an "eco-conscious" lifestyle, such as taking quick showers, though every room is equipped with an independent solar hot water system to ensure luxury standards are met.
Is the camp suitable for honeymoons?
