The Experience

Reopened in early 2024 after a total multi-million dollar reimagining, Serengeti Explorer is the "new face" of large-scale luxury in the park. It moves away from the traditional dark-wood lodge aesthetic, favoring bright, contemporary "Savannah-chic" design. How is it different from the old Sopa Lodge?

It’s unrecognizable. The dark interiors are gone, replaced by floor-to-ceiling glass, light-colored stone, and modern art. It now feels like a high-end boutique resort.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, it has some of the most reliable high-speed Wi-Fi in the park, suitable for remote work or uploading high-res photos.

Can we see the migration here?

Yes, typically from April to June and again in November. The lodge’s high elevation makes it one of the best places to see the massive herds without leaving your balcony.

What is the "Creative Studio"?

It's a dedicated space for content creators and hobbyists. You can rent professional long-lenses for your game drives and take editing classes in the evening.
