Is it cold at night?

Yes. The crater rim is at a high altitude (over 2,300m). The camp provides heaters and "hot water bottles" (bush babies) in the beds, but warm layers are essential.

Can we see the Crater from our tent?

The camp is tucked into the forest for wind protection. While you are on the rim, the views are typically of the beautiful acacia forest rather than the crater floor itself.

What is the "Lemala Gate" advantage?

Most tourists use the Seneto descent road, which can have long queues. Lion's Paw uses the Lemala road, meaning you often have the crater floor to yourself for the first hour of the day.

Are there wild animals in camp?

Yes, buffalo and elephants frequently wander through the grove. You will always be escorted by a Maasai guard after dark.
