7 Days Kilimanjaro Rongai route trekking

The Rongai route is the only route that approaches Kilimanjaro from the north, close to the Kenyan border. Though gaining popularity amongst climbers, Rongai has low traffic. It is the preferred route for those looking for an alternative to the crowded Marangu route, for those who would like a more remote hike, and for those who are climbing during the rainy season (the north side receives less precipitation). The minimum number of days required for this route is six days, and seven days are recommended. Although the scenery is not as varied as the western routes, Rongai makes up for this by passing through true wilderness areas for days before joining the Marangu route at Kibo camp. This route descends down the Marangu route. Rongai is a moderately difficult route, and is highly recommended, especially for those with less backpacking experience.

Great Safari with Joel We had Joel as our guide, and he really made sure we had a great experience during our safari. We visited the Ngorogoro crater & Serengeti and were lucky to even catch a lion with her cubs. Unique experience with a great guide that always made us feel safe and answered happily a lot of questions about all the animals, Tanzania and the massai. Highly recommended! Asante sana!

Highly recommended! I had the pleasure of spending a week on Kilimanjaro with the most friendly, supportive and welcoming team imaginable. From arrival to departure, we felt very well taken care of by both the trekking team led by guide Shambani and Charles’ team in Arusha. I highly recommend Maasai African Guides to anyone interested in taking up the challenge of climbing Kilimanjaro or looking to explore the Arusha area.

Tarangire Serengeti Ngoro Ngoro safari I had Charles as a guide during a 4 day safari to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngoro Ngoro and it was the most beautiful experience.Charles has an incredible knowledge about the animals, the nature, the country... He knows the animals so well that we saw all of them, even the Chita who's so difficult to spot sometimes. He not only knows them but he loves them and is very respectful of the surroundings and nature in general.I highly recommend Charles for his kindness, his amazing knowledge, his humour and his patience with the group. Really a wonderful experience!

Charles - amazing guide and person Charles was our driver and guide at our 30th anniversary 10 days trip to Tanzania. He is experienced, reliable, knowledgeable, a pleasant-mannered person, great to have conversations with. A rare combination of a field man and a certified tour guide. Took care of us from the moment we arrived until returning to the airport at the end of the trip. Patiently answered all our questions (and we had a lot...). Charles was highly motivated to find animals and bring us to them up close, to arrive at the right moment to the great Gnu crossing the Mara River and in general to respond to every request we had. Highly recommended????
